Summer School in St Vincent and the Grenadines
Donation protected
The Danny Scrubb Summer School (DSSS), a partnership of educators in the Caribbean and the UK, is raising money for its educational programmes in St Vincent and the Grenadines.
Now in its fourteenth year, DSSS delivers annual classes to children between the ages of 5 to 16, covering Maths, English, Science, and sports, as well as local cultural awareness, to help bolster educational achievement rates.
In recent years, DSSS has expanded its work to offer additional online classes throughout the year. These were begun to help support those children affected by the eruption of La Soufrière volcano in 2020 and the pandemic.

With donations this year, we plan to:
- Run the Summer School on Union Island for three weeks
- Provide resources for Union Island Secondary School, and in St Vincent, Dickson School, J.P. Eustace School, Stars Pre-school (Georgetown)
- Host a Science and Math masterclass with a guest teacher
- Contribute to the costs of bringing two teachers from the UK
- Continue our after-school reading program which runs through the year
- Organise after-school workshops in sewing, knitting, arts and craft
