My name is Sophia Longo, and I am a Soprano from Dublin, OH. I am currently a student earning my Masters of Music in Vocal Performance at Ohio University. I created this GoFundMe in conjunction with a recital series.

My summer nights will be spent studying and performing in two prestigious opera training programs. First, I will travel to Atlanta, Georgia to perform as Mary Warren in Ward’s The Crucible for Harrower Summer Opera. Then I will travel to Miami Beach, Florida to perform as Susanna in Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro for the Miami Music Festival.

For a young singer, these summer programs are like unpaid internships. I will gain real-world performance experience, make connections, and receive personalized training essential to kick-starting my career. Investing into these programs comes at a cost and prohibits my ability to work a summer job. Donations from the recital will go directly towards my summer educational costs, the cost of the venues, and my collaborator, Arno Jones.

Living Expenses - $2,000
