I am a sophomore in the Law Magnet at Boone High School. I am taking all Honors and AP classes and play both school soccer and club soccer. I enjoy art, music and community service. I volunteer my time outside the classroom at a local nonprofit, One Purse, as an officer in Key Club, the Treasurer of Spanish Honors Society, Best Buddies, Neuroscience Club, School Representative of Law and Government Post #450, member of the anti-bullying club Rise.
I have a passion for learning and wanted to do more with my summer than just take an online class or SAT prep class, so I decided to research and apply for programs to challenge myself and grow. I have been fortunate enough to be accepted to The Brown University Leadership Institute in July and early August. I will participate in an on-campus Leadership and Conflict Resolution study. An intriguing part of this program is that is will allow me to create an action plan to take home after the course ends. I plan to use my action plan to launch a new club at Boone High in hopes of increasing community outreach locally.
In order to make this possible, I have a big "ask" and appreciate any support with my program fees. I am working to pay for my travel expenses until my July departure but do not have much time to earn the tuition during finals, AP exams and End of Course Testing. I only received the humbling news of my acceptance to the Leadership Institute a few days ago. Time is of the essence, as my Brown University program fees of $4208 are due by May 21st. I would be incredibly grateful for your support.
