Summer in Vienna Opera-tunity!

Hello! My name is Sophia Rose Torres, and I am raising money to fund my trip to Vienna, Austria this summer to participate as a young artist in the Vienna Summer Music Festival.

This once-in-a-lifetime opportunity is truly a dream come true, and through this educational endeavor, I will be able to learn, grow, and perform while pursuing my goal of becoming a professional opera singer. I am currently a junior at Florida Gulf Coast University studying vocal performance, and this trip would be my first opportunity to study opera abroad! I am beyond grateful for this incredible chance, and it would be a truly life-changing experience for me.

With your donations, I will be funding my tuition for the month-long program in which I will be participating. All the money raised will be going toward my room and board in Austria. As a college student who began her journey into college amidst the throws of the COVID-19 pandemic, I have learned that it is vital to ask for help and admit when you need support. With the help of friends, family, and fellow patrons of young artists, I hope to be able to take this opportunity and further my artistic experiences.

Thanks to the tutelage and guidance of my professors, I have achieved a great personal goal of mine: to be accepted into and cast within a prominent program for talented young artists. I have dedicated many years of my life to honing my skill of singing, and I was thrilled to be gifted an opportunity with the Vienna Summer Music Festival to nurture that skill in a completely new environment with endless opportunities for growth and exploration. I have a true passion for my craft, and with your help, I aim to solidify myself as a dynamic and capable performer armed with knowledge, but most importantly, practical experience. I want to bring joy to anyone who sees me perform, and my journey begins here!
