Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh
My name is Sumbal Shahzadi, and many people in the community know me through the Islamic classes and educational programmes I have been involved in for many years in London, Luton and Bolton.
Some dates don’t fade; they reverberate.
That day still shakes my ribs.
On 7th March 2026, my beloved husband, Mian Tassadduq Hussain, returned to his Lord, and since then life has felt like it’s moving forward on the outside while the heart keeps circling back, again and again, to what was lost.
Let me tell you who he was.
He was my backbone, my calm.
In this dunya he was a devoted father and a man who cared deeply about Islam and the unity of the ummah, not as a speech to deliver, but as a responsibility to live through steady service, quiet encouragement, and the kind of sincerity that doesn’t ask for recognition.
For many years my husband stood beside me while I was teaching and spreading the knowledge of Islam. Whether it was helping organise community activities, encouraging people to attend classes, or supporting the work quietly in the background, he always believed in serving the Deen and bringing people together.
During his illness, even while going through great difficulty, he continued to encourage me to carry on teaching and spreading the message of Islam. One of the things he reminded me before he passed away was that I should never stop the work of the Deen and continue doing dawah.
So this is where intention becomes action.
So I’m building forward, inshaAllah.
In honour of his memory, and in obedience to that final reminder, I hope to establish Hussain Islamic Nursery, a place that isn’t merely functional childcare but a warm, faith-centred start where young children can grow in an atmosphere that feels safe, tender, and quietly luminous.
The early years are not “small.”
These years write the inner script.
This is when character, habits, confidence, and identity begin to assemble, almost like invisible scaffolding, so a nursery shouldn’t only teach colours and counting. It should also nurture adab, gentleness, gratitude, and a child’s first sense of belongin g.
And what do parents really want?
Parents crave peace, not panic.
If we’re honest, many Muslim parents are tired of feeling like they’re constantly “correcting” the environment around their child, so isn’t it a relief to imagine a place where Islamic values are woven naturally into the day, salaam, kindness, manners, and remembrance, without it feeling forced or awkward?
Community matters more than we admit.
No one should raise children alone.
Alongside caring for children, an Islamic nursery can quietly gather like-minded families into a circle of support, friendships, shared values, and that reassuring sense of “you’re not the only one”, because parenting can be isolating, and community can be a lifeline.
This project is very close to my heart. Many people know how much my husband supported the work of Islamic education in our community. Establishing Hussain Islamic Nursery is a way to continue that mission and create something that will benefit children for many years to come.
The Vision
In honour of his memory and the dream we shared, I hope to establish “Hussain Islamic Nursery.”
The aim of this nursery is to provide a safe and nurturing environment where young children can begin their lives learning about Islam. From an early age they will be taught:
• Love for Allah and His Messenger ﷺ
• Good manners and strong moral character
• Basic Islamic values and teachings
• Kindness, respect, and community spirit
Many of you know that teaching and spreading Islamic knowledge has been part of my life for many years. With your support, I hope to continue this work and also create something that becomes a Sadaqah Jariyah for my husband.
A Continuous Charity
The Prophet ﷺ said:
"When a person dies, their deeds come to an end except for three: ongoing charity, beneficial knowledge, or a righteous child who prays for them."
(Muslim)
We pray that this nursery becomes a continuous charity for Mian Tassadduq Hussain, and a place that benefits children and families in our community for many years to come.
About the Family
We are still learning to breathe.
Tassadduq leaves behind me, Sumbal Shahzadi, and our three children, Ibrahim Mohammad, Noor-ul-Iman Hussain, and Muhammad Waleed Hussain, and we are carrying grief in our own ways while still trying to keep life steady, meaningful, and anchored. They are all currently in education.
How the Funds Will Help
All funds raised will go towards helping set up and open the nursery, including:
• Educational materials and resources
• Equipment needed to create a safe learning environment
• Basic facilities required to start the nursery
Every donation, no matter how small, will help bring us closer to making this vision a reality.
A Request for Dua
Please also remember Mian Tassadduq Hussain in your du‘as.
Whenever he comes to mind, we kindly ask that you recite Surah Al-Ikhlas three times and make du‘a for him.
May Allah forgive him, grant him Jannatul Firdaus, and accept this effort as a means of ongoing reward for him.
Ameen.
