Flood relief fund for queer family

My dear friend and roomie Theo’s family home is uninhabitable, and they have lost almost all their belongings from the flood in Sumas. We are raising funds to cover 3 weeks of emergency hotel fees, basic goods like toiletries and clothes, car damage caused by water, and new furniture and other life essentials.

 

This disaster has hit Theo’s family particularly hard financially - their mom Desiree (who is the sole financial provider) is a tradesperson and was recently injured on the job. She has been unable to work and provide for her family through this emergency.

Their apartment was on the ground floor, and so took a very high degree of damage as the flooding reached 4 feet inside. Here are some details on the financial loss this family is experiencing as a result of this disaster:

$10,000 in car damage (car was completely flooded as seen below)

$3000 in furniture, appliances, clothes, kitchen items 

$3150 in hotel fees
