Help Us Finish Our Family Jungle Homestead

Donation protected
We’ve spent 8 years building a life of sovereignty, simplicity, and sacred service, and now we’re almost home.

Hi friends, we're Michael and Yara.

After 8 years of living close to the earth in Costa Rica—birthing and raising our two children, cultivating medicinal plants from around the world, and slowly aligning our lives with nature’s rhythms—we’ve taken the next step in a long-held dream:

We purchased land & we’re building our home!

Not just a house. A family domain. A sacred land that supports generations to come.
A living, breathing sanctuary of love and legacy.
A place where our children can grow wild and free.
A place of healing and remembrance for others.
A base from which we can share our gifts with the world.

This isn’t about escape. It’s about rooted, sovereign belonging.
A life of presence, responsibility, connection, and contribution.
A way out of rent dependency and into rooted belonging.
A future our children won’t have to heal from—but can return to.

This is not a far-off vision. We’re living it. And now we’re ready to take it to the next level.

We’ve invested all of our savings so far ($30,000), and we have a $90,000 mortgage (thank you Gabe!) on our 2-acre homestead in the southern jungles of Costa Rica. The roof is going up. The walls are rising. We’re doing the work with our own hands, and with deep trust in the path.

We just need a little help to finish strong.
Rather than stretching this out over years of side work, we’re asking for a leap forward—so we can focus on serving and sharing this vision sooner.

That’s why we’re turning to you: our friends, family, extended community, and anyone who believes in a different way to live on this planet.

We’re raising $13,000 to finish our home and fully land into our mission.

Your support will help us:

  • Install a bathroom (yes, we’re currently planning a hose and composting toilet)
  • Build kitchen counters and install basic appliances (fridge, stove, washer)
  • Add windows and interior doors
  • Finalize simple finish work so we can move in fully

We’re not in crisis. We are healthy, happy, and deeply fulfilled.
This isn’t about survival, it’s about acceleration.
About making space to focus more energy on the work we’re here to do.

This land is more than a homestead. It’s the birthplace of a greater dream.

We call it Suma Kallay: a sacred space where nature, family, healing, and ancestral wisdom converge. Our long-term vision includes:

  • A regenerative homestead filled with fruit trees, medicinal plants, and food sovereignty
  • A ceremonial space for retreats and deep inner work
  • A creative haven for music, weaving, woodworking, and sacred living
  • A sanctuary for our children to grow wild and free, connected to nature
  • A living example of what’s possible when we reclaim our birthright to thrive

We’ll be documenting our journey the whole way—through newsletters, YouTube, and social media—to show what’s possible when you say yes to land, family, and truth.

We’ve already hosted Sunday gatherings in the maloka, tended plant medicine with reverence, and supported others on their healing paths.

Once complete, this home will allow us to host guests, hold healing retreats, and expand our service to others. This home is simply the foundation that allows us to serve more deeply.

If you feel inspired by what we’re creating, here’s how you can help:

1. Donate any amount.
Every dollar brings us closer to completing this sacred threshold.

2. Share this campaign.
With friends, family, or anyone who feels called to invest in a future rooted in connection, intention, and a more grounded way of living.

3. Follow our journey.
Find us on Instagram, YouTube, or through our newsletter. Your presence, encouragement, and energy are deeply supportive too.

Thank you for reading. Thank you for witnessing.
Thank you for helping us bring this dream all the way through.

With love,
Michael, Yara, Ariel & Alia
