Sully's Breast Reduction Surgery Costs
Donation protected
Developing early is all fun and games…until you get older and your boobs start to feel suffocating (literally and figuratively). I’ve felt not quite at home in my body for a long time and my boobs are a big part of why.
Since I was a teenager, finding bras that fit has been a huge pain in the back and the pocketbook. (Seriously, the nearly permanent indentations in my skin are absolutely insane.)The pressure on my shoulders and back make it really difficult to be as active as I want to be. I want to be able to go hiking and swimming without feeling like I’m gonna die.
After confiding in some friends about the struggles that come with having the equivalent of a 20lb watermelon on my chest, a few of them suggested I look into a reduction. They’d gotten one and were completely thrilled with the results. That suggestion sparked an ember in my heart and mind. I truly can’t thank those friends enough.
After much debating and soul searching, I talked to my doctor about the possibility of a breast reduction. She determined, based on my medical history and the adverse effects my large chest is having on my health, I’m an excellent candidate. We found a surgeon, and I got approval from my health insurance! The hard part is over right? Wrong…
Here’s the problem, we live in a capitalist hellscape. Even with the approval, I won’t be able to afford the out of pocket costs…let alone being out of work for weeks recovering. That’s where you lovely, kind, and generous people come in. By donating, you won’t just be a part of changing my life for the better, you’ll also be helping me become my truest self inside and out.
