This is my grandson Sullivan. Better known as Sully or Suls.
He is the most cheerful, playful and kindest boy you would ever meet. But he’s also a Sorrell, so there’s that spark of naughtiness there as well.
Looking at him you would never know there was anything wrong with him. He’s just a normal kid.
Unfortunately Sully has a hidden life threatening illness called CGD which basically means his white blood cells don’t work.
His immune system is extremely weak which means he can’t really live a normal life, like going to nursery and mixing with other kids in the playground and that sort of thing. For example, if a kid gave him a chest infection, this could become high risk leading to him being hospitalised.
He was diagnosed at 6 months old and has been coping with this ever since. Sully is 2 years old and has spent more than half of his life living in a hospital which no child should have to do.
In April 2022 he received a life saving bone marrow transplant and 7days of intense chemotherapy.
Unfortunately we found out that his transplant had failed so he was not cured of CGD.
The only option is for him to give the transplant one more go. Sully is having his second transplant on the 13th of April this year in the hopes that this will give him a better life.
This is where we need YOU!
We need help because we can’t do this alone. We’re not a rich family. Sully’s mum will be living at Great Ormond street hospital with him and as you can imagine life in central london is expensive.
Although the bone marrow transplant is covered by the NHS, everything else isn’t, like petrol to get there, parking, accommodation, the list is endless.
This is an emotionally challenging time for us all and we need support. So please share this video even though it’s got my dull and boring voice on it. I did write and play the music. I know times are tough but please donate if you can. Anything is better than nothing and will be greatly appreciated by Sully and all of us around him.
Thank you all, Peace
