Hi everyone ❤️
Tesa's Rescue has been kindly asked to assist 2 Bulldogs - Sully and Bertie. Both have similar background stories - they've been brought home by their respective owners as puppies, they began showing aggression towards family members/people in general and were scheduled to be euthanised. Thankfully, a wonderful solo-rescuer took them both in, re-assessed their behaviour and sadly confirmed they were unadoptable due to the high bite risk. Both dogs are more than welcome to stay with her to prevent any incidents, however this amazing lady rescues so many unwanted animals and uses her own very limited funds to care for them all. Of course we had to help when we found out that both Bertie and Sully urgently needed veterinary assistance as they were suffering.
Sully has always had massive problems with his tail due to recurring infections. His carer has tried her hardest to stay on top of the problem with all sorts of antibiotics, other meds, creams etc but the infection keeps coming back, irritating Sully
to the point of discomfort, causing him to "dance" on his bottom in an attempt to relieve the pain. It has been decided that a tail amputation at this point is the best solution. He had this procedure scheduled for Wednesday 23 July but the vet observed yet another infection on its way, he's been given one last round of antibiotics and the amputation rescheduled for Wednesday 30 July.
Bertie, on the other hand, is troubled by intense symptoms of some sort of allergy, his eyes flare up, his ears go purple from the frenzy of scratching, he is in constant pain and discomfort, his carer has eliminated all sources which may be causing issues but nothing has worked so far and Bertie continued suffering daily. After attempting to bite the vet several times, despite being as sedated as he could be prior to the vet visit, he finally succumbed to the anaesthesia and the vet team cleaned and medicated all the irritated areas on his body + sent samples to the lab in order to get answers.
Sully and Bertie's vet bill so far came to £640 - unfortunately we did not have this amount available, so one of our wonderful volunteers jumped in with a much appreciated loan so we could make these medical procedures happen ASAP and not let these poor Bulldogs live another moment in pain ❤️ We've set up this fundraiser in the hope that we can sort this vet bill out ASAP, give the money back to our amazing volunteer who saved these 2 dogs from unnecessary suffering, so we can keep on helping more people and their lovely animals.
Next bill will be Sully's tail removal which will add to the cost, but everything will be worth it so these 2 amazing boys can live a happy life to the best of their abilities especially now that they've been given a second chance ❤️
Every donation, no matter the amount, makes a huge difference! Even £1, £2, or £3 can bring us closer to our goal. (GoFundMe allows a minimum donation of £5, but if you'd like to donate a smaller amount, please feel free to message us directly for bank or PayPal details.)
As always, we work closely with veterinarians, all payments go directly to the vet and we are sent invoices. We thoroughly check every case we take on to ensure that the people and pets we assist genuinely need help.
Our mission is simple: to ensure the happiness and well-being of pets while easing the worries of their owners or carers. We've done this many times before with your support and we are forever grateful for your kindness.
Thank you so much for reading and please share this fundraiser if you can ❤️
