Hey Suga Pie’s family!

I am SO excited to FINALLY share a business update with you all after being relocated to Houston, TX for 1.5 years now.

When I first arrived here, I learned that the “home/cottage baker” laws were much different than Ohio and unfortunately I was unable to bake and sell my products legally to the community, unless I was in a commercial space (due to my baked goods requiring refrigeration).

Although I felt defeated and sad that I couldn’t continue with my business for the time being, I was able to jump back into my career field of Social Work and provide Clinical and mental health services to children and adolescents. I am so thankful I could still provide for my family.

This entire time, I’ve been working hard and getting settled in Texas so that eventually I could afford to be in a commercial space.

However, recently things took a really positive twist and as of Sept 1, 2025 the “Cottage Baker” law in Texas was revised and it includes everything I bake & sell! I am finally legal, but that’s not even the best part.

Before Sept 1st, a friend spoke of me at a very popular Soul Food restaurant, Aunt Bill’s, and that connection landed me a permanent position as their Dessert Vendor inside of their location! I am THRILLED!

This opportunity presented itself to me 2 weeks ago, and is going into effect in about another 2-3 weeks.

To make this successful I’ll need a few business items:

Refrigerated Counter top display case $800

Texas Foreign LLC filing $750

2-3 small refrigerators $800

Logo Sticker Labels $300

Packaging $200
