Rugby 2016 and beyond

My name in Taylor Makowski, I have had a whirlwind of a summer and fall this 2015. I am a High School Rugby player out of Denver metro area in Colorado.

As many of you know, I started playing rugby 3 years ago for the Northside Lady Dragons High School Rugby Club.  After my first season I was named to the All State team and asked to play with a regional selectside team and played in 2 large tournaments.

My second year with Northside, I was again named to the All State team and asked to play with a select team in an International tournament in Las Vegas, in Febuary 2015. I subsequently made the Colorado Select High School team, playing in a major regional tournament.  My play during the regular season and following tournaments gained me recognition from USA Rugby and an invitiation to attend their Stars and Stripes Camp in July 2015, along with 51 other High School girls from across the nation.

This camp allowed me to be selected to the first ever High School All American Team, 1 of 23 girls from across the nation to play an International match. In September, I was off to British Columbia to play the Canadian National High School team. I am happy to say we beat Canada 58-0 and then again two days later 47-17.

At the conclusion of this past fall season, I was again named to the All State Team.  In addition, I was named Rugby Colorado Girl's High School Fifteens Player of the Year.  This was a tremendous honor to me knowing the talent of the other girls in Colorado I have played with and against.

Following this season, I have been invited by USA Rugby to participate in the NACS - National All Star Competion - in Lakeland Florida, leaving this Sunday, December 27th. This invitation allows me to tryout for the USA Olympic Team for RIO 2016 as well as the U-20 National Team, which could lead to a place on the Women's World Cup Team. Going through the list of candidates invited to the NASC, it appears I am one of the youngest to participate. All this has been extremely exciting. I would be blessed to represent our counrty in either the Olympic games or as a player for our National Team and God willing both. 
 
Two weeks ago the 2016 schedule for the High School All American team was released showing at least one event every month through July 2016.  This includes training camps in Arizona and Florida before travel to Vancouver BC for the Vancouver Rugby Tournament and to Atlanta to play against the U18 Spain team.

All camp/competition attendance fees and travel costs are my responsibility because USA Rugby does not fund these events at this level.  Mom and Dad have been spending between $750.00 -$1,000.00 per event. 

I am hoping to offset their expenses for my travels, with your gracious donations.   Your donations will be used to help pay for the airfare, camp fees and misc charges involved with my campaign to better represent our country.  

It means a lot to me that you have taken time away from your families and busy schedules to read through my plea for parental relief.    I would like to Thank You in advance for contributing and would like to ask one more favor.  If you could please forward to any one that may have interest in helping this girl on her path toward Olympic recognition - Or World Domination !!  LOL
