Dear Friends, Family,
I come to you today with a heavy heart and a deep sense of urgency, as my brother Sufi (20 year old) is facing the fight of his life. In early October, he was diagnosed with chickenpox, which quickly turned into a nightmare far beyond what anyone could have imagined.
Just a few days into battling the chickenpox, his condition worsened as he was struck by a viral infection and pneumonia. His platelet count plummeted to a dangerously low 10,000, and he was rushed to the ICU on 11th Oct 2024. His liver and lungs were severely affected, and doctors were gravely concerned for his survival. For several days, we were in constant fear.
After days of uncertainty, Sufi began to show signs of recovery. He was stable enough to be moved out of the ICU and back to a general ward on 17th Oct 2024. However, on the fourth day following his discharge, tragedy struck once again. Sufi suffered a stroke that brought about severe complications, including swelling and multiple blood clots in his brain. He was immediately transferred back to the ICU and placed on a ventilator, unconscious for several days.
Thankfully Sufi is now conscious and fighting with every ounce of strength but his journey to recovery is far stretched. He is still in the hospital, as he has not regained full functionality. While there is some movement on the right side of his body, he has no movement on the left side, and he is currently being fed through a tube. Doctors have said that his recovery could take a long time, and he will need extensive rehabilitation to regain strength and mobility.
We are hopeful, though, that with time, therapy, and the love and support from all of you, he will be able to recover and return to the life he once knew. But this journey is long, and it will not be easy.
I am reaching out today for help. Sufi and his family need financial support to cover the growing medical expenses, as well as the long-term care and rehabilitation he will need. No contribution is too small – every little bit helps. Most importantly, your prayers, thoughts, and well-wishes are crucial in lifting his spirits during this difficult time.
We are keeping our faith that with your help, he will pull through and regain his strength. He is a fighter, and we are standing by him every step of the way. Together, we can help him heal and overcome this unimaginable challenge.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your compassion, and please understand that we are reaching out on a personal level to those close to us in this time of need and refrained use of social media platforms like Facebook or Instagram to protect family’s privacy.
With deep gratitude and hope,
Singh Family
