The Friends of COL Fred V. Cherry was formed in 2018 to encourage and advocate for the preservation of COL Cherry’s legacy, love for learning and the sciences, and to provide a forum where diverse audiences can actively participate in cultural and academic experiences. The Col. Fred Cherry Middle School CYBER HAWKS STEM Club [Cherry Youth in Basic Engineering and Robotics] provides opportunities for middle-school students to have access to programming and resources that raises their interests in Science and Technology at an early age. With a mission to “inspire young people at a time when relevant and engaging STEM programs have the greatest impact on their future endeavors”, the students compete in FIRST® LEGO® League, which provides a platform to strengthen their creative, problem-solving skills in solving real-world Robotics and Engineering problems.
The CYBER HAWKS need your financial support to meet future competition requirements of the CYBER [Cherry Youth in Basic Engineering and Robotics] Program. In addition to partnerships with neighboring defense contractors, veterans' organizations, government agencies and private sector businesses, the Friends of COL Fred V. Cherry seeks to raise the necessary funding ($5000) to cover all costs associated with the CYBER HAWKS activities. Your gift of $50, $75 or $100 will fund team supplies, field trips, entry fees and other Robotic competition requirements. (No amount is too small to give a student an early start on their path to success!).
Thank you in advance,
Friends of COL Fred V. Cherry
