Suez's fund for All Seated in a Barn

Espíritu de Equus Sur is a proud partner of ASIAB - a 501c3 non profit horse and donkey rescue, with the focus on rescuing horses and donkeys who would otherwise have ended up in slaughter. Espiritu is the only emergency rescue facility in Baja California Sur, operating in Mexico to provide judgment-free access and no-cost education that protects and advocates for animal welfare. Our focus at Espiritu is Rescue and Rehab through Education and right now we’re concentrating on starvation cases like Rubí, a horse abandoned on the hwy near the Los Cabo’s airport for over a year. She was near death when we found her. It took us 10 days to get her off the hwy safely. And we need your help to see her/them through.




Life in the Baja desert is brutal for animals that are too old or injured to work for humans. They often get abandoned one day and left to fend for themselves. Rubí had been on the hwy for more than a year, wasting away from neglect. She has a profound spirit to share.  




Funds will support Rubí in dental care, full diagnostic blood work, private turn out so she doesn’t need to compete with others for food, and on-going nutritional requirements. It supports daily contact and handling by loving people, baths and ferrier care. We’ll also set up a fund to support other starvation cases in the area and expand our educational outreach to organize spaces and support for older animals; while continuing to decrease injuries through knowledge sharing so horses stop dying from preventable infections.
