Where does one start... My mother and I are not one to ask for help. But she is in desperate need of it. Five years ago my mom suffered a stroke which luckily did not leave her comepletley disabled but it did enough damage to her health that she needed to retire early. And with that left her in financial hardship for this last 5 years. I moved home to help her as much as I am able but with my never ending student loans, I am unable to finance all these repairs. My close family friends have already agreed to give there time and labor to help but we are desperate need of materials.
My mother's deck has finally had hit its last leg and it is very dangerous for her to even be on it and it is also time for us to put in a ramp for her (stairs are just too rough on her knees and hips). It got so bad my brother had to already rip out the back deck to try to save her swamp cooler (and she needs that in the summer). WIth boards rotted thru and the hand railing unstable(wobbly), we need to get her something more stable. My brother has estimated deck materials will cost us almost $2k and not only that she has foundation repair in her storage/pantry room. I recently almost fell through the floor and I know longer want her going in there but she needs too. And to top it all off she needs a new furnace, her's went out in 3 months ago( I know its about to heat up but she still needs one).
My mother Sue is kind hearted woman, who when she was able to have stable income she would do anything for anyone. She raised 5 children on her own after her husband passed (her youngest 'me' was only 6 years old at the time)away . She would go down to her parents home 6 hours away almost every weekend so she can clean, shop, do doctor appointments etc, for them till they finally passed. She has been through so much, lost many loved ones(even her eldest child). I wish I could do this on my own, but this is why I am here asking you to give what you can to my Mom Sue. I love her so much and I know some of you who know her love her too and the one's who have not met her you would fall in love with her.
We will start using the funds when we hit the half way mark(hopefully we can get there soon) so we can start building the deck. I would be so grateful for just a share. Love to you all and I hope my Mom can get the nescessary repairs she needs.
