Sue's Fight for Life: Lung Transplant Aid

Hello, my name is Sue, and I am 52 years old. I have COPD with Emphysema stage 3. I know to a lot of people that makes no sense. It didn't mean much to me either until one day when I got sick and could not breathe and had to be taken to the hospital and put on O2 and breathing treatments for a week, due to an infection in my lungs that did severe damage to my lungs. That was 5 years ago and now I am looking at a lung transplant if I want to keep living. I am not the kind of person that would be asking for money or help; I normally do things for myself, but this is something that I cannot do on my own. I have insurance but just found out that they do not cover the medical facility or the doctors that are doing my transplant and that I will be responsible for the cost, which is upward of 1.5 mil. Of course, this is not the kind of money that the average person has in their bank account. So, I decided to start this GoFundMe to help with the cost.
