Sue's Fight Against Breast Cancer Fund

My mom's 2021-2022 school year started as usual; she was excited to work with a new group of Kindergarteners, knowing how much they will grow and shine throughout the year. But on October 5th, she got the news that would change not only her school year but also her life and those who were a part of it. The first indication that something was wrong was when she had to go for a breast biopsy on October 1st; 3 sites had to be biopsied and examined. On October 5th, an alert came across her phone saying that a lab report was ready. Going into her 'my chart,' she read the medical information that reported all three locations were cancerous, and her world suddenly changed. Within a day, she saw a surgeon who explained that she had Stage III breast cancer; one site was Her2 positive, the other two showed an aggressive carcinoma.

From that day on, doctor's appointments filled her calendar, starting with port installation, rounds of chemo and, of course, a multitude of doctor visits. By early December, she realized she would not have enough sick days to get through the recommended double mastectomy and would be required to take a half-year sabbatical. Even without the doctor and medical bills, this would undoubtedly cause financial hardship.

As it stands today, her double mastectomy surgery is on February 22nd, which any other year would be a joyous day of celebration as February 22 is also my mom's birthday. While we will still celebrate another trip around the sun for SueBee we will also be praying for a safe surgery with a cancer-free outcome!

With all this being said, I am asking from the bottom of my heart for any kind of help in supporting an incredible woman who has always been a helping hand for anyone who needed it.
