''We never imagined we would be writing something like this.

Our mum, Sue, became unexpectedly ill and, true to who she was, she fought with everything she had. She showed incredible strength, even going through a leg amputation, and still never complained. We were preparing for her to come home to us — we truly believed she was over the worst and that we would have more time together.

Then, within just 24 hours, she became non-responsive. Our lives were turned upside down in a way we could never have prepared for.

With Christmas so close, this loss has been especially devastating. What should have been a time of togetherness has become a time of heartbreak. We were completely unprepared for this — emotionally, mentally, and financially — and the shock has been overwhelming.

If anyone is able to donate, even the smallest amount, it would help us so much towards funeral costs and, if possible, a memorial piece in her honour — something meaningful and lasting to reflect the incredible person she was.

Our mum helped so many people throughout her life. She wasn’t just a mum to us — she was like everyone’s mum and nan. She listened, she cared, she loved fiercely, and she always put others before herself. The impact she had on people’s lives is something we will carry with us forever.
