Sudz Bernichio Memorial Scholarship Fund
After losing Sudzy, this Fund was created by Sudz's family to keep his spirit and memory alive through acts of kindness and generosity to those in need and to honor a man who made no enemy and knew no stranger – only friends he hadn’t met yet.
A master mechanic, he owned and operated his own automobile repair business, Personalized Repair, in Saint Germain, Wisconsin, before traveling the country. While traveling, he found Carlsbad, New Mexico, where he continued to excel in his trade and successfully managed a fleet of diesel trucks. "I don't want problems; I want solutions", he was often heard saying.
In this vane, the Fund will provide solutions for those in need within the community and beyond. A multi-focused charity, the Fund aims to make a positive difference in people's lives by giving assistance or aid in circumstances that reflect Sudz's many passions. The Fund grants charitable contributions to people dedicated to thriving and succeeding yet need assistance in reaching their full potential as in the case of a student struggling to continue their mechanical education or a family looking to move forward following a tragic illness or event.
Through the creation of the SUDZ BERNICHIO MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM it has been with great pride that we have been able to carry on the wonderful tradition of helping those in need in honor of a man who never needed anything from anyone yet was always there with a helping hand for all. Recipients who are rewarded the scholarship through Madison Area Technical College will have proven their dedication to thriving & succeeding within the automotive industry & have a proven financial need for assistance. They will participate in the Diesel Technology, Motorcycle Repair &/or Auto Technology programs offered at the college. This is particularly meaningful, as Sudzy often worked directly with the Program Director at Madison Tech.
To date, the Sudz Bernichio Memorial Fund has sponsored FIVE STUDENTS FROM START TO GRADUATION! It is with great pride and pleasure that we announce that each has gone on to excel in their chosen professions.
Fundraising has been difficult, and we sincerely hope you will find it in your hearts to help continue making a difference and carrying on the legacy of our Sudzy - beloved friend, son, brother... and soulmate. It takes $3,200.00 per year to sponsor a student through the Scholarship Program. Every donation counts!
