Suddenly solo mama in need of birth & postpartum care
Donation protected
We're Talitha and Daisy and we need your donations to help our good friend Brittney. Expecting her second baby in April 2025, Brittney lives in Scotland with her toddler son and husband. Very sadly her husband and father of her children suddenly ended their 10-year marriage and deserted her and their babies quite out of the blue. He was her only family member in the UK and the family breadwinner, which now leaves Brittney stuck and completely alone to do the birth and postpartum on her own and to figure out how to set up her future as a solo mother. Brittney is in shock and grief at this time and is now working out how to find in-home care for herself, baby and toddler during her immediate postpartum recovery and newborn weeks. With her nearest family members over 4500miles away in Florida, we (Talitha & Daisy) want to reach out to our local community and doula network in Scotland to offer Brittney some crowdfunding support to pay for food, practical doula help and care for her and the babies in their time of need.
New mamahood is raw and intense and birth recovery is physically and emotionally demanding at the best of times, but being abandoned by your baby's father at this time is very tough going. Brittney can't heal well and care for her two children alone, so we want to provide her with postpartum doula care for the first weeks to help her get through this recovery as best she can. Once Brittney is back on her feet and the baby is able to travel, she will have to find a new home and a new life somehow.
So here is our fundraiser which we will send to Brittney to buy
>Food/broths/healing teas
>Doula support for birth
>Doula support for the first 6 weeks
>Medicines for healing
Thanks for reading and please give what you can comfortably spare to care for this mama.

Here is a message from Brittney:
"I am over 6 months pregnant and my husband has just decided to leave me and our children. I am grieving so much right now - grieving our relationship of 12 years, the family I thought we were building together, the happy pregnancy I was excited for, and the plans we’ve been actively making for the birth and the postpartum. There’s so much hurt and questioning - whether I actually am a good and nurturing person, and how this has happened just months after we called in this baby (after a year of us both consciously trying), and right after we bought our house. My whole life has been wrenched apart at such a big, big time and I’m trying to pick up the pieces, and yet am continuously astounded by the amazing strength of my heart which keeps breaking and growing on a daily basis since finding all of this out just a few weeks ago. Now I’m facing a very disjointed postpartum where my husband doesn’t want to stay in Scotland or help me fully as he should in those early days. I am very hurt, very rejected and very alone now with no way of earning to support me and my children for the time being. Thank you so much for reading and listening. I’m so grateful to be part of this community ♥️"
