Hi, I’m Abby. I’m 20 years old, and I still can’t believe I’m writing this.

On November 25, 2025, my beautiful mom, Melissa (Missy) Weis, passed away suddenly. She was only 50. One day she was delivering mail with her usual smile that everyone in Paynesville knew and loved, and the next day she was gone. Just like that, our whole world fell apart.

My mom was a single mom and the only parent we had. She raised the four of us mostly on her own after the divorce a few years ago, working long routes for the post office to make sure we never went without. She was our everything.

Now there are four of us left:

• Me (Abby, 20) – junior in college

• Zack (19) – freshman in college

• Jo (15) – freshman at Paynesville Area High School

• Wishy (13) – 7th grader at Paynesville Middle School

Zack and I are trying to stay in school, but right now our hearts are with Jo and Wishy. They’re still kids. They just lost their mom — the only parent they’ve ever really had — and everything feels terrifying and uncertain.

We’re creating this GoFundMe to help cover:

• Funeral expenses that came out of nowhere

• Groceries, utilities, and basic living expenses

• School fees, clothes, and everything Jo and Wishy need to keep going to school

• An emergency fund so my little brother and sister never have to worry about where their next meal is coming from or whether the lights will stay on

Every dollar will go straight to keeping Jo and Wishy safe, fed, in school, and together with family. My aunt/uncle is helping me manage the money and make sure it’s used exactly the way Mom would have wanted.

If you knew my mom, you know how big her heart was and how much she loved this community. If you’re able to help even a little, you’re giving my little brother and sister a chance to just be kids a little longer after the worst thing imaginable happened.
