Reaching this final semester has been the hardest journey of my life.

When war erupted across Sudan, the world my family and I knew collapsed overnight. The sounds of shelling and gunfire replaced everyday life. Our home, our neighborhood, and everything my parents spent decades building were lost to the violence. Like hundreds of thousands of others, my family was forced to flee for safety, losing our home, our livelihoods, and every source of financial security we had.

Before the war, my parents did everything they could to invest in my education. They sacrificed and saved so I could have a chance at a brighter future. But today, their only daily focus is surviving displacement, finding safe shelter, and securing basic necessities. The bank accounts are frozen, businesses are gone, and the financial foundation that supported my studies disappeared entirely.

Against all odds, I kept studying. Through power cuts, terrifying weeks waiting for news about whether my loved ones were safe, and the immense weight of displacement, I poured everything into my classes. I refused to let the conflict steal the one thing I had control over: my education.

Now, I am at the very finish line. I have passed my coursework and completed my requirements, but one final barrier stands between me and my degree: my remaining tuition installment of [ £1200].

Because of the war, my family cannot send a single penny, and university policies require this balance cleared by [before end of September]before I am allowed to sit for my final exams and receive my graduation certificate.
