Subzero Diving: Antarctica Climate Mission!

Donation protected
Hi Fellow Explorers!

We’re Steven and Carmen, co-founders of Explorers Photography (EP), underwater photographers and archaeologists. We're embarking on a scientific diving expedition to Antarctica and will be producing an independent documentary on climate change!

Antarctica Expedition
We've been selected to join a polar scientific expedition to Antarctica with Blue Green Expeditions aboard the Ortelius vessel in Feb 2024, commemorating the 150th anniversary of the HMS Challenger’s crossing. While on this expedition we will be among world leading scientists, explorers, and imagemakers all of whom will be on the same mission for climate change awareness! We've been preparing for diving in extreme cold conditions since Nov 2022, training extensively with specialized polar diving equipment and specialists, having made substantial investments into our specialized polar gear and knowledge to simulate the dive and photography environment.

Our Mission in Antarctica
We will be developing images and video footage of Antarctica that will contribute to a greater understanding of the delicate Antarctic ecosystem! Furthermore, we'll be honoring the significance of the HMS Challenger’s contribution to oceanography and its relevance to today, through the collection and publication of new scientific data; especially data related to the study of climate change.

We’re finally less than a month away from this exciting endeavor and we’re now ready to introduce a path for you to follow and engage on our journey while we’re out there in Antarctica! Please consider donating to our mission and documentary.

About Explorers Photography (EP)
Steven and Carmen co-founded Explorers Photography (EP) with a shared vision—a platform to channel their deep passion for scuba diving, underwater photography, and underwater archaeology. With over 15 years of experience working in underwater environments, both in academic/professional and recreational domains, they have cultivated their skills and established a strong presence within the maritime sphere. Throughout their professional journeys, they have collaborated and pursued individual projects, each fueling their desire to create a business that not only showcases their expertise but also adapts to the ever-evolving technological landscape. Their mission is to inspire people to explore and intimately connect with the underwater world, making it feel more accessible and relatable. By fostering a deep relationship with the ocean, they aim to increase awareness of its significance and advocate for its preservation.

One of our goals for the Antarctic journey has been to shift beyond technical photography and diving in order to bring to life an environment that’s relatively inaccessible, yet impacts EVERYONE! We want people to be able to connect and relate indigenously to this planet with a sense of collective responsibility for its preservation. The environment is agnostic to human-made ideologies - we must all listen to its cry for help!
