Hi, Thank you for reading our funding post. I am trying to crowdfund for this vast, unexpected foundation expense. My fiance and I have lived in our new home for over 2 years. The foundation issues were not disclosed before closing, and since we were close to the previous owners, we did not get an inspection completed, a mistake we will not make again if we buy a new home. We have consulted a Lawyer, and sadly this is not something that is easily pursued. One of the cracks in the picture has started leaking very severely, and one of the others is beginning to leak. The home in one of the corners has sunken roughly 2+ inches. The work will include digging around the foundation and adding 18 brackets around half of the home that will connect to 18 steel piers that get shot into the ground until they hit the stable bedrock under the home. Once the home is stable on the bedrock, they will jack the side of the home up those 2+ inches to level the house and close the cracks. At this point, they will fix all of the leaks by sealing the outside foundation and placing a water barrier. The rising costs of steel, the amount of labor needed to fix the home, and cost to repair the outside after the work is done, are why the cost is so high.
