My name is Jadyn Gilmour, and I am organizing this fundraiser on behalf of The Grit. Our goal is to positively impact individuals and families in our community, both now and in the future. Our mission is to create meaningful, lasting change through strong leadership and humanitarian work that reaches people across different states, industries, and communities.

This specific GoFundMe is dedicated to supporting families in Utah County through our Sub for Santa initiative. Many of these families are experiencing significant challenges—job loss, single parenthood, illness, or limited resources—making the holiday season especially difficult. We want to provide hope, relief, and a sense of community during a time when they need it most.

How the funds will be used:

The total donations will be divided into two main efforts:

United Way Partnership (Beneficiaries: 165 Children & Their Families)

We have partnered with United Way of Utah County to sponsor 165 local children. Approximately $30,000–$40,000 of the funds will go toward purchasing clothing, toys, winter gear, and essential items for these children and their families.

Giving Trees for Local Families (Beneficiaries: 30–40 Families in Utah County)

We will also be sponsoring an additional 30–40 families who were nominated by members of the community. For these families, we will purchase and hand-deliver Christmas trees decorated with envelopes of cash. Each family will receive between $1,000–$5,000, depending on their circumstances, to help with holiday needs, bills, groceries, and other essentials.

How I will manage and distribute the funds:

All funds donated through this GoFundMe will be received and managed by me and our CEO, John Taylor, on behalf of The Grit. I will use the funds directly to purchase the items listed above or deliver the monetary gifts to the families as part of the Giving Tree deliveries. None of the funds will be used for administrative or personal purposes.
