Myself and my family aren’t the type of people to ever ask for any assistance but right now I would like to take it upon myself to help my Grandma in her time of need.
It is beyond belief for me to come to terms with these circumstances and to be sharing this story, but if anyone knows my grandparents, within their 60 years of marriage they have always been there whenever you needed them.
As hard as it is to announce and begin to put into words, our beloved Papa passed away on Tuesday December 8th 2020. As most of you may already know my Nana and Papa (Mike and Mary) both contracted COVID-19, a virus which unfortunately many fail to take seriously. After two difficult weeks, my Nana began to feel better, she had been in contact with both the Riverside County Public Health department and her family doctor on both of their behalf and they both were scheduled to release from Quarantine on Thanksgiving day. Following his positive diagnosis, Covid-19 suddenly led my Papa into a decline in his health which caused him to become very weak leading him to fall causing bleeding of his brain. After 1 week in the ICU, my Papa was then cleared and released due to successful treatment and normal vitals from Inland Valley Medical Center. He was then placed in a rehabilitation facility to strictly strengthen his ability to walk again in order to come home. Suddenly and unexpectedly on the morning of December 8th we received a phone call that my Papa had stopped breathing and was unable to be resuscitated. We were met with extreme heartbreak and confusion due to us expecting him to soon return home recovered and healthy. We were absolutely devastated that we were unable to be with him during his last days due to this pandemic.
My papa was a loving, inspirational, selfless family man who was always full of laughter and joy. He was the light and structure of our famil
y. He was a role mode and a friend, and we would like to give back to him as much as he gave to us.
All proceeds will go to my Nana, Mary Loiacono to help her organize her husband’s end of life expenses, anything at all helps.
Thank you all so much for your generosity and consideration during this trying time.
We love you with all of our hearts Papa, until we meet again.
