Help feed & treat disabled cats at Maria’s Cathouse
Donation protected
Maria takes in the most urgent cases of cats in need around Chania, on the Greek island of Crete. Please help her to pay for the huge food and vet bills at her rescue, which has over 160 cats.
Maria takes in cats who are at great risk of dying and who have very little chance of finding a rescue space or indeed of being adopted.
Maria takes in many cats who would have nowhere else to go, such as cats who:
- have incurable and very contagious Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV). These poor cats are chronically sick, have very shortened lifespans and have to be strictly contained in controlled areas. They are never adopted because of the virus and most rescues won’t take them in.
- have chronic health conditions which require treatment and management, such as asthma.
- are very nervous or aggressive or who have toileting issues, making them hard to rehome.
- need fostering for tourists before they can travel. There foster spaces are very hard to find.
- have long term effects due to traffic accidents, such as neurological damage and loss of vision. These cats cannot return to the street and are hard to rehome.
There are many other cases which Maria takes in and she really is the last hope for many cats. Please help her amazing efforts and mission. Your donations really make all this possible. There is no other source of funds.
Maria also monitors and treats cats in stray colonies and fosters for and assists other rescuers.
With your incredible help she can pay for food and ensure that all the cats she cares for get the vet care they need.
Thank you so much for your help - it’s truly life-changing for these cats ❤️
