Chelsy's Mission Trip to Haiti
Donation protected
Hello Everyone,
My name is Chelsy Webb and I am finishing up my first year of medical school in Atlanta. This year has opened my eyes to a wealth of knowledge and many opportunities to serve the community around me. I have also been exposed to the inadequacies in healthcare here in Atlanta but am very aware of this from a global perspective in countries such as Haiti. Thomonde is one of the poorest cities in Haiti with very limited access to adequate medical care. One in every ten children dies before the age of 5 because of lack of vaccinations. Through Project Medishare, I will be given the opportunity to work alongside other medical students and physicians to provide basic primary care, perform life-sustaining procedures, and provide pharmaceuticals. I will also take part in physical examinations, vaccinations, wellness checkups, minor surgeries, and many more services as well as educating the general population. The goal of our trip is to serve as many underserved people as possible and provide a positive impact on their community.
The students are solely responsible for the fundraising and planning efforts of the medical mission trip. We are seeking to raise at least $2500 each to cover the cost of traveling, lodging, medical supplies and medicine for the citizens of Thomonde. If you’re not able to donate, please spread this link to your friends and colleagues. Please forward the word to anyone you believe is interested in supporting this great cause. I would hate for a monetary obstacle to be the reason our vision of ending health disparities cannot come to fruition. Thank you for taking the time to read this!!!!
*All extra donations will be shared amongst the other students and donated directly to Project Medishare
Thank you for all your support!
