CHI E’ ROBIN?

Robin Neumann, classe 1995, è un’esplosione di vita. Nasce in terra Toscana da radici

anglotedesche, un bellissimo meticcio.

Rotolando giù dalle montagne arriva a Bologna e il suo nome si allarga, come i suoi affetti e le sue

storie di vita. Con la sua energia e sensibilità diventa per molti un punto di riferimento, un amico

insostituibile e una persona capace di creare legami profondi ovunque vada.

Robin vuole relazioni forti, il confronto vero, la risata che unisce.

A gennaio, dopo aver risparmiato con cura, era finalmente riuscito a partire per la Costa Rica per

riabbracciare il suo carissimo amico d'infanzia, Ludo.

L’IMPREVISTO

In questa storia così difficile c’è stata anche una parte di fortuna. Quel giorno Ludovico e Robin stavano partendo per la giungla, ma per fortuna si trovavano ancora vicino ad una clinica. Robin si è svegliato con un sapore terribile in bocca e una forte vertigine. Ludovico ha capito subito che qualcosa non andava e lo ha portato immediatamente in clinica. Poco dopo, Robin ha iniziato ad avere convulsioni molto forti.

È stata chiamata un’ambulanza e Robin è stato portato in un ospedale locale. Dopo le prime tac, i medici hanno deciso per un trasferimento urgente nella capitale, San José, in un ospedale privato con un eccellente reparto neurologico. È iniziato così un viaggio in ambulanza di tre ore, durante il quale Robin ha continuato ad avere crisi epilettiche molto forti, perdendo a tratti la coscienza.

All’arrivo, Robin è stato ricoverato immediatamente e preparato per un intervento d’urgenza il giorno successivo.

L’intervento ha rivelato una realtà durissima: un tumore al cervello. Il tumore è stato asportato, ma sono stati necessari ulteriori interventi e cure specialistiche. Robin è rimasto sedato in terapia intensiva per diversi giorni, prima di essere dichiarato fuori pericolo e trasferito in un altro reparto, dove è rimasto per circa dieci giorni.

Quando si è svegliato, i medici gli hanno detto: “you are a miracle”. La sua ripresa ha sorpreso anche loro.

Oggi Robin è stabile e sta dimostrando una forza straordinaria, ma il percorso di cura è ancora lungo.

L’APPELLO

In questo scenario già difficile, si è aggiunta una complicazione burocratica e finanziaria: in Costa Rica, come in molti altri paesi, le spese mediche per interventi neurochirurgici e lunghe degenze sono altissime e superano di gran lunga le possibilità di una singola famiglia.

Vogliamo che Robin senta che la sua "famiglia" non è fatta solo di legami di sangue, ma da tutti noi.

Vogliamo trasformare l'affetto che proviamo per lui in un aiuto concreto per coprire i costi delle

operazioni e del suo ritorno in Italia.

WHO IS ROBIN?

Robin Neumann, born in 1995, is an explosion of life. He was born in Tuscany from Anglo-German roots — a beautiful blend.

Rolling down from the mountains, he arrived in Bologna, and his name grew, just like his circle of friends and life stories. With his energy and sensitivity, he has become a point of reference for many, an irreplaceable friend and someone able to create deep connections wherever he goes.

Robin seeks strong relationships, real connection, and the kind of laughter that brings people together.

In January, after carefully saving up, he finally managed to travel to Costa Rica to reunite with his dear childhood friend, Ludo.

THE UNEXPECTED

In this very difficult story, there has also been an element of luck. That day Ludovico and Robin were about to leave for the jungle, but fortunately they were still close to a clinic. Robin woke up with a terrible taste in his mouth and a strong feeling of dizziness. Ludovico immediately understood that something was wrong and took him straight to the clinic. Shortly after, Robin began to have very strong seizures.

An ambulance was called and Robin was taken to a local hospital. After the first CT scans, the doctors decided on an urgent transfer to the capital, San José, to a private hospital with an excellent neurological department. A three-hour ambulance journey followed, during which Robin continued to have severe epileptic seizures, at times losing consciousness.

Upon arrival, Robin was admitted immediately and prepared for emergency surgery the following day.

The operation revealed a very harsh reality: a brain tumor. The tumor was removed, but further surgeries and specialist treatments were necessary. Robin remained sedated in intensive care for several days before being declared out of danger and transferred to another ward, where he stayed for about ten days.

When he woke up, the doctors told him: “you are a miracle.” His recovery surprised even them.

Today Robin is stable and showing extraordinary strength, but the road to recovery is still long.

THE APPEAL

In an already difficult situation, a further bureaucratic and financial complication has arisen: in Costa Rica, as in many other countries, medical costs for neurosurgery and long hospital stays are extremely high and far beyond the possibilities of a single family.

We want Robin to feel that his “family” is not only made of blood ties, but of all of us.

We want to transform the love we feel for him into concrete help to cover the costs of his surgeries and his return to Italy.
