My name is Marissa and I'm Thomas's sister. On March 17th my brother was in a motorcycle accident. We don't know what happened yet, because he can't remember. He was airlifted to a hospital that could treat the severity of his injuries. Thomas is suffering from a severe head injury including bleeding in the frontal part of his brain, several skull fractures, spinal fluid draining from the ears, short term memory loss, and a lot of road rash. He is currently in the ICU in stable condition. He has come a long way in such a short period of time. But he has a long recovery period (months)! Between healing time, physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy. Thomas has a job, but will not be able to go back to work until he is completely healed. He has liability insurance, health insurance, and we believe the bike is totaled. He has no short or long term disability that we know of. His fiancé Shonna is a stay-at-home mom and will have to care for him around the clock when he returns home. They also have two beautiful children that will need to be cared for also. They just bought their first home two weeks ago and haven't even made their first mortgage payment yet. He will get one more paycheck and I don't know what they will do from there. However, bills at home will start accumulating like hospital bills, utilities, food, and so on. They have worked so hard to get to where they are! To just lose it all because of this horrible accident is not an option I want them to have to face. He has a long road of recovery ahead of him and thankfully we have a great support system. If we could all come together and help them in any way possible it would be greatly appreciated. Prayers and shares are appreciated too!
