This is my beautiful four-year-old little menace, Log, and we are now currently on a difficult medical journey. On 08/23, I noticed my dog's eye looked glassy, so I had a friend who was a vet check him out. He wasn't reacting to light in his left eye, with a large ulcer on it. I was recommended to get an MRI, and on 08/28, what we were hoping was just some weird benign thing ended up being worse than initially imagined. He has a tumor on his brain that is not only blocking his sight but has extended into his esophagus. Unfortunately, this tumor cannot be removed, only shrunken, with a likelihood that it would return in the future. They were able to get a sample, and now we're waiting for the biopsy to see if this tumor can be shrunken with any type of treatment.
Just because of the type of person that I am, I would normally not ask for help, but his treatment has already cost over $6000 and I foresee it being more if we undergo additional treatment.
I want to make sure I do as much as possible for him to have him as healthy as possible while making sure his quality of life is good. He is literally my baby boy, and I would move heaven and earth for him.
As someone who has worked in hospice for over half a decade, it still feels weird to be put in this position, but I will do everything in my power to ensure his quality of life.
At the end of the day, any money that will not be necessary for his treatment I will donate to some pet foundation.
I will be sure to update as much as possible. If you are not able to donate, please post and pass this around.
I also stream where you can donate to my ko-fi
Thank you all and wish us luck on this difficult journey.
