Studying at the American Academy of Dramatic arts

Throughout my life, I have always enjoyed entertainment. From singing Westlife on pub tables at the age of 3, to then auditioning at the Prince of Wales Theatre for one of the most historic and influential drama schools in the world. As luck would have it, the American Academy of dramatic Arts have seen potential in my abilities and have given me a place in their 2022 class which is a huge achievement and also a huge honour.

As the school is based in the United States; funding has not been simple at all. The Academy have been extremely generous with granting me a scholarship that has seen the cost decreased a considerable amount but the total amount is still a big figure. The UK and US governments do not offer any loans, grants or scholarships to train at an American University, with the UK banks not assisting further as well. With my mum being a single mother who has to provide a huge amount of her wage towards household bills, she does not have the financial capacity to assist me with the whole payment for my first year of tuition. I have also been able to save and continue to save through work. However, it is insurmountable to meet the funds that are required.

My family and I have been looking at every avenue that could provide any sort of financial support and so far, it has been unsuccessful. I fully appreciate the cost of living is at an all time high so any contributions are truly appreciated. My further aim with this Gofund me page is for anyone who may own or know a business, charity or foundation that would be interested in supporting me in this next chapter of my life.
