Study in Andrews University - Teology Course

Hi, My name is Uarlisson Machado. I'm a 29-year-old Brazilian. A few years ago, I was working as a professor at a public university in my region. However, after feeling God's call, I completely abandoned everything in my life to serve in the mission field.

Currently, I'm serving as a missionary in the Amazon, coordinating the Amazon Life Savers mission. This project, started by North Americans, consists of sending out boats with around 35 people of various professions and education levels to spend 10 days in indigenous tribes in the heart of the Amazon jungle, bringing humanitarian and social development such as basic healthcare through volunteer doctors, psychologists, and dentists as well as donations of clothing, food, and toys

They also participate in social and evangelistic visits in addition to remodelling schools, outpatient clinics, and social centers. These activities are many times the only opportunity these socially vulnerable people have.

Today I know that I am developing a marvelous work in this place, a life of total service with limited ressources and challenging logistics. Through it all, God has given the necessary support to reach these people.

Despite this, I frequently have a feelign that I could be doing more! Doing more means deepening my theology and academics, so that together with all my experience in the mission field, as a future minister I can reach people in challenging places and capture them for the heavenly kingdom.

Recently I was accepted into the theology program at Andrews University in Michigan, USA. I see a great opportunity to serve God better as well as to share and exchange experiences with others who have the same goal, serving others.

Some kind donors have already given me the means to get a visa, and to pay some of the fees and housing costs. However, I still need to come up with the money for the plane ticket, the cost of the first semesters, and the learning material.

Through your colaboration this dream can become reality. You are not only helping a missionary who wants to become a pastor but also a project that will be responsible for transforming the lives of many people who need to know the saving power of the Gospel.
