Help Me Study at Konkuk University for 6 Months!

Hi everyone! My name is Skyler and I have had a love for learning languages ever since I was a child. From picking up words while living in Okinawa, Japan to majoring in foreign languages in school I never want to stop!
(Me with my sensei after learning how to make shisa dogs, which are an integral part of many Okinawan homes)
In university I majored in Spanish, Japanese, and International Studies and minored in Political Science. I use the skills I learned daily and continue to reach towards fluency even after graduating. For the last year, I have started to study Korean to enrich my understanding and love for different Asian cultures and media.
I hope to continue my studies by attending Konkuk University, one of the leading universities in Korean language studies for foreigners. Strategically located on the Green Line in Seoul, most of the city is within a few subway stops. As one of the more intense Korean language tracks South Korean universities have to offer, a good portion of my time will be spent immersed in the Korean language, but in my free time between semesters I hope to absorb the best Korea has to offer culturally.
My plan is to attend Konkuk University from September to February, allowing me the opportunity to observe some of South Korea's most important holidays; like Chuseok, a harvest festival. Konkuk Univeristy also offers an amazing mentorship program and assistance to foreigners in the dorms, ensuring all students have access to assistance throughout their daily lives. Through the mentorship program and various cultural activities and clubs the university has to offer, I hope to forge lasting connections that help strengthen my language comprehension and connection to the country. All of these things that Konkuk University has to offer make it an amazing place to flourish as a student.
I plan to use any funds I raise to help pay for tuition (~$4,000), textbooks, dorm expenses (~$3,000), and travel expenses (~$2,000).
Upon my return I plan to use my newly enriched skills and experiences to further assist the guests I help everyday at work. I never want to stop learning because there is always something new to understand or experience, and the key is language.
For any who donate and would also like a little bit of Korea, I would love to send you postcards so you can learn some Korean too! I will post updates about my study abroad on my instagram @tonarino_sky. Thank you for your support!
