Yorkshire 3 Peaks Studio House Project 27th July 2024

Hi,

We are a group of individuals who are in recovery, along with some of our family members who are taking on the challenge of completing the Yorkshire Three Peaks on July 27th 2024. We understand how challenging it is to overcome personal difficulties (such as addiction) and the various trials and tribulations that come our way and how difficult life can be at times. But since we made the decision to change our lives around and battle our addiction we live an abstinent lifestyle free from all drugs and alcohol, through this we found the joys and gifts that come with a life in recovery which has benefited not just us, but family members and the wider community.

This would not have been possible to achieve had it not been for our chosen charity Gate way Trust (trading as Studio House Project).

Studio House Project is a fully supported residential community rehab for adult men and women, wishing to engage in the process of recovery from drug and alcohol addiction. It is a community run by staff and volunteers, where people learn to rediscover who they are; to reconnect with themselves and with others too. This is achieved through a comprehensive holistic and varied daily program, of approximately one years' duration.

Studio House Project is a peer led environment - they strongly believe that recovery is possible for everybody. The residents take part in structured group therapies; we engage in physical activities, develop personal skills and 'give back' to local communities. Through the programme, we learn to cook, clean and live harmoniously with one another. We learn how to become accountable, more manageable, and begin to take personal responsibility.

In 2023 the overdose death rate topped 112,000 in a 12 month period for the first time, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Places like Studio House Project work to try to lower these statistics and help people to live a better lifestyle. This is the reason we are raising money for Studio to aid them to continue to save lives and have a positive impact on society. Anything you can donate will be much appreciated. All donations will be donated to the charity Gate Way Trust for them to use to renovate Studio House Projects kitchen which has been needing a modern uplift ever since the property was acquired so as to provide a good environment for our 10 plus residents and staff.
