Help Students with Psychosis Expand their Impact
Donation protected
All proceeds from this fundraiser will go directly to Students with Psychosis, of which Cecilia McGough is the Executive Director.
I first met Cecilia in 2017. At this time, she told me she would not rest until people with schizophrenia were comfortable discussing their diagnosis. Five years later, Cecilia has been true to her words and founded Students with Psychosis, an incredibly impactful non-profit organization that serves people with psychosis.
The following quote is Cecilia's explanation of Students with Psychosis.
"Students With Psychosis is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that empowers student leaders and advocates worldwide through community building and collaboration. Funding raised will go directly towards Students With Psychosis' outreach, in-person hubs, and virtual programming. We provide over 160+ hours monthly of virtual programming at no cost to our student leaders and advocates, with at least five hours facilitated each day and opportunities to get more involved. Faculty, student lived experience, and advocate lived experience memberships are free with paid membership tiers for mental health professionals, students pursuing a mental health degree, creatives, and friend/family members. To get more involved, members can apply for an intern, advocate, brand ambassador, event/hub curator, or community group leadership position. To learn more, visit https://www.sws.ngo "
While interviewing members of Students with Psychosis, what struck me most was the incredible resource this organization is for people experiencing something that can often feel isolating. Multiple people told me Cecilia's advocacy is a major reason why they now feel comfortable discussing their diagnosis. Anybody who has ever struggled with their mental health understands that community can be life-saving. It feels impossible to capture just how life-changing this organization is, but I believe anybody who saw Cecilia's latest SBSK video understands the vital work of Students with Psychosis.
There is no upper limit on this fundraiser. All money will go directly to helping Students with Psychosis widen their impact. Thank you to each of you for always making these SBSK fundraisers so special. Seeing the difference we have made over the years as a community is breathtaking.
