Hello, our name is Areli Padron Sanchez and Leslie Benitez. We are Masters of Social Work students attending CSU Stanislaus passionate about helping those affected by period poverty. In collaboration with the Social Work Study Abroad program, we have launched a project to fundraise to purchase menstruation cups, tampons, pads, and panty liners that will be taken to Ghana, Africa. Did you know that 95% of girls in Ghana miss up to 20% of the academic year due to menstruation because they cannot afford menstrual products? Raising funds for our stay in Ghana, Africa is necessary for us to make a difference. We believe this project could greatly impact communities.
