Student Thesis Film RASH

Hi, I'm Lila! This is fundraiser for my thesis film project Rash that I wrote and am directing. Rash is a ~24 minute short film about a high school girl who develops a rash as a manifestation of her anxiety and dread about the imminent future. The rash continues to grow and spread around her body as these emotions escalate throughout the film.

I am a senior Cinema Studies major at Oberlin College and have brought together a strong team of other students* to help make this final project a reality. My core team and I have been filming projects together since we started at Oberlin, and last year we all had the pleasure of studying at Prague Film School together to really hone our production processes. This film is working as a culmination of my team's undergrad filmmaking experience and this project will hopefully help launch us into our film careers postgrad.

I started thinking about the concept for this film when I was a first year at Oberlin College. A lot of the feeling in it comes from the rawness I felt after graduating high school and I found a lot of my inspiration for it in the history of the monstrous feminine in horror films past. I feel honored to now be able to make this film a reality in my last year of undergrad. But that's where you come in!

I need your help to raise these funds! I will be using all the money I raise here to help pay for equipment rentals, special effects budget, art/props, and most importantly to feed the people who will be with me on set!!
