Hello! My name is Laura McLellan, and I am a senior Cinema Photo major at Ithaca College. I'm minoring in Writing for Film, Television, and Emerging Media, as well as Gender Studies.

In my time here, I've found my path split three ways. Between directing, writing, and editing. In my thesis, I want to work closely with my friends and classmates to create a piece that perfectly exemplifies my work here.

This led me to write "If my Candle Burns Blue," a noir-styled thriller following Skylar, who, when gifted a century-year-old book of short stories, must find a way to vindicate herself from the book's gruesome ending. Within this story, we not only adventure into Skyler's thrilling real-world encounters but get sucked into the world of the demon book.

In order to make this short film to the best of our abilities, we are looking to invest in realistic props, costumes, and locations to fit the modern-day tool and 1940s world aesthetic. Along with this, we will need to work a few long days in which we want to cook meals for our crew to enjoy during their breaks.
