Student Teaching in Westport, Ireland

Hi everyone!

My name is Carley Sneddon, and as many know, I am currently in the midst of my sophomore year at Central Michigan University. I have spent the past 3 semesters studying Elementary Education with hopes of returning to Petoskey to teach. I am still amazed that I am finally getting the opportunity to live out my childhood dream and I am beyond thankful for the experiences I have garnered.

I am incredibly excited to announce that I have been accepted to study abroad and serve as a student teacher for 2 weeks in Westport, Ireland this upcoming May! The town is a few hours outside of Dublin and is complimented by wonderful schools, beautiful scenery, and amazing sights to see. The biggest challenge for me as a full-time college student is finding ways to raise money.

My days are packed to the brim. I am currently taking 18 credit hours, serving as an Executive Officer for 2 different student organizations, working a part-time job, maintaining an incredibly high academic standing, and dancing several days a week.

The expenses of my journey will exceed $5,000, which includes housing, travel fees, airfare, food, and other important expenses of the abroad program. I am asking for kind donations from anyone willing to help me raise at least a quarter of my dues (~$1,250). This will be my first international experience, but I am incredibly optimistic that it will not be my last.
