Student Film Fundraiser - Whim-Bucket

Whim-Bucket is a short film written and directed by Annabelle Henderson, and produced by Connor Benson.

Making a student film can be quite financially daunting as there are so many costs that need to be taken into consideration, the money raised from this GoFundMe will assist us with transport and catering costs for the crew and actors, as well as production design. Anything would be massively appreciated as every single cent counts.

Hi Annabelle here to tell you a little bit about Whim-Bucket; the plot follows two girls who find themselves alone on a beach with nothing but two shovels to entertain them. They feel that they need to dig, but for what? And why?

Inspired by the play, Waiting for Godot, Whim-Bucket's circular dialogue and contained setting prompts a consideration of how we tackle hopelessness and meaninglessness in our lives. Whim-Bucket also shines a new and exciting light on the Australian Gothic as it investigates how landscapes reflect and amplify feelings of isolation, and the surreality the world around us can embody. It is heavily informed by the landscape I grew up around, in particular the Hume Weir in the Albury-Wodonga region and the endless summers days I spent in the Murray River.

It also explores friendship between women through sympathetic and relatable dialogue, as our two characters struggle against their circumstances, Whim-Bucket is ultimately a testament to the importance of friendship.

The film is very special to me, and the opportunity to bring it to life with the amazing team of students working on it, would be an absolute dream, as well as an incredible way to solidify our education.
