Student production: Me Morí

Hi! My name is Mie - I'm a student at the European Film College and a producer on one of our final fiction projects.
The EFC is a Folk High School in Denmark, where people from across the world can get their first taste of the film industry. My crew alone, relatively small as it is, consists of multiple nationalities, stretching from Sweden to the Netherlands, and all the way to the USA and New Zealand!
On behalf of my crew, I'm looking for the last stretch of funding to ensure our fiction short film will have wind in its sails, a missing sum just shy of $300 (2.000 DKK). The money will be used for car rental and transportation of the crew, so everyone can arrive quickly, safe, and well-rested to our location for our 4 days of shooting right after Easter.
Our short film, Me Morí, tells the story of two women sharing a tragic fate. It's a melancholy and somber drama about a pattern of abuse repeated across centuries, told through the connection between our main character, Amelia, and her modern-day counterpart, Ellie.
We want the film to be a beautiful little piece without pointing fingers, but which will leave the audience with material for reflection and a feeling of solidarity.
The story is close to my heart in particular for multiple reasons - other than being one of two producers, I'm also the writer of the script and have worked tirelessly for more than two months to make sure it could become reality. The story isn't based on one particular incident in real life, as it does involve magical realism to some degree, but is inspired by multiple occasions of fear and sadness when watching, meeting, and listening to other women and their stories...
