Hello all! 

My name is Emilio, I’m an Afro-Latino born and raised in South Bronx, NY! 

to get right into it, if there’s one thing my parents have wanted since immigrating here from Dominican Republic, it’s a safe and healthy place to live. If you don’t know, South Bronx is the poorest and most crime ridden areas in all of New York State! 

 My parents have worked incredibly hard to put me and my siblings through school— with my sister graduating as a Mechanical Engineer, and now me pursuing a Social Service Masters degree, I’d say they did a pretty damn good job! 

My mom had just started working towards theprocess to finally buy a house, but since COVID happened, a lot of savings that would have went to the down payment for the house had to go to rent and bills piling up while both were out of work. 

And so! I’m making this Gofundme hoping to gain enough funds to cover most of the down payment, and if that goes well then new furniture (pictured above are couches we had thrown out! Not pictured: 2 mattresses we threw out that we haven’t replaced)!
