In 2024, we launched and privately financed a Rewilding project in Southern Namibia, “Löwen River Rewilding” (lowenriver.org). After a foundational 2025, we seek to do more in 2026.

2 Honours students from Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST), joined us early January for a 5-month internship. Coming from rural backgrounds, their passion for Nature and Biodiversity is part of their DNAs. Financing their Bachelor degree though is not. Bernardo had to work 2 years after high-school to afford his undergrad tuition.

We feel that we have a direct and concrete opportunity to help youth in Namibia gain relevant field experience and soon enter the workforce in pursuit of their dream jobs. Beyond their stipends, we seek contribution to:
  • provide a new solar system to power their accommodation (a fan, plugs for their mobile, a freezer and lights)
  • accelerate the construction of a boma (enclosure) and organise the reintroduction of a group of springbok (20-30 individuals) and 10 oryx in May-June, once temperatures abate (currently 〜40deg C)
  • boost regreening with the use of our new greenhouse, test sampling of our soil (research), cultivate seeds and saplings

100% of the donations goes directly to benefit the local community of young talents, kudus, springbok and oryx in Namibia.
