Many Thanks for taking the time to read Nicola & Peters Story. I have set this crowd funding page up for our dear friend and colleague Nicola and her family.
This morning in the staff room I was faced with one of the hardest and unimaginable conversations I have ever had and think I will ever have in my life time !
Bumping into Nicola before we started our shift (Yes Nicola still came to work ) Nicola broke down and told the news to us that her Husband Peter didn’t make it across the Ukrainian/polish border yesterday.
Peter is from the Ukraine but has lived in the UK for the past 22yrs. Peter had been visiting the country dealing with a family matter. He was informed at the border that he will not be able to leave Ukraine and he has to stay in Ukraine to fight in the war against Russia .
WHAT !!!!!!! I was is utter shock !!!!!!! I start to think what if that was my husband !!!!! It’s just unimaginable but it’s real for Nicola !!!!
Peter is now stuck in Ukraine leaving at home his Wife Nicola and their 12 year old son Harry who just wants his Daddy home. Peter has lived in the Uk for over 22 years , THIS IS HIS HOME ! This is where his wife and son who are British are and it is where Peter SHOULD BE !!!
He pays taxes here has worked for the Chesterfield Hotel in Mayfair for more than 15years , his livelihood is here his friends and his family are here ! The boys football team he manages on a weekend is here !!!
I cannot begin to comprehend what Nicola Peter and their 12 year old son are going through ………… Nicola just wanting her husband home safe , Peters worrying about how his family will cope financially and emotionally without him being home. How will their son will cope with so many questions ?why his daddy can’t come home? when will he be home? is he ok? Will he actually make it HOME?
This morning I saw first hand the utter pain and desperation in Nicola just to have her beloved Husband Peter home safe and for their son to have his Daddy back.
I /we (all of Nicolas colleagues) HAVE to do something to help !!!
Please please please I’m asking you to help US support Nicola , Peter and their son financially through this extremely difficult time. To help release at least one burdened from them as a family !!
Please help us raise as much money as we can to support and finance Peters return to the UK ! And in the meantime give Nicola the time to concentrate on exploring every avenue to get Peter home, instead of worrying about how she will pay the next bill .
I will keep you all updated every step of the way of any progress Nicola has
As of today the embassy have informed Nicola they are in no position to help But I have faith with your help we can get Peter home .
