I'm currently stranded in Rishikesh. My original flight home via Bahrain on 4th March was cancelled by Gulf Air because of the ongoing situation in the Middle East. Yesterday my rescheduled flight on 14th March was cancelled by the airline. I have been rescheduled to fly back on 23rd but I am not hopeful that this flight will go ahead as planned.
Flights back to the UK in the next few weeks are very expensive. I've managed to secure a reasonably priced backup flight for 30th March which is direct to London from Mumbai with budget airline Indigo which I'm confident will leave.
I miss home. I miss my dog. I miss teaching & I miss my community. Of course, I am very grateful that I'm somewhere safe, but this situation has put me into a tight spot financially. As a self-employed full-time yoga teacher, I depend on teaching my regular classes to support myself. I've lost over a weeks worth of income already and I'm expecting to lose at least another 2 weeks, so a total of 3 weeks income lost.
I'm also having to cover my accommodation & living costs while I'm stranded here in India. I will be seeking reimbursement from the airline once I return, but for now I’m having to put as many expenses as possible on my credit card.
I'm losing all my income while I'm stuck here in India. Any support to help bridge this unexpected gap until I can return home and resume teaching would mean a great deal.
