Stu Sells Support Foundation GoFundMe Campaign for Online Streaming of Live Curling Events
The Stu Sells Events team is seeking the support of the curling community to make curling events more accessible in these challenging times .
While events are slowly coming back online in local curling communities, they are coming with significant restrictions on how many curlers can participate and how those that support teams from across the spectrum, youth to professional, can enjoy seeing their favourite players and teams play. With little to no supporters allowed at the event level, the great shots and games that are being played are not being seen as well as the many sponsors who have supported teams are not getting the exposure they had hoped for in sponsoring these teams. The Stu Sells Supports Foundation wants to help but we need your help to do that and here’s how.
The Stu Sells team through the Support Foundation is investing in the technology and infrastructure to allow for high-quality, online streaming of games and events, first in southwestern Ontario and hopefully beyond, to allow for events to be more broadly seen and distributed online. Partnering with CurlingZone, we hope to ensure that the video stream is widely available with as many games as possible, score graphics updated and make player microphones and commentary on games available (when possible) for these important local events and the teams playing in them. We also want to feature the many local event and team sponsors so vital to the team's success during the broadcast.
The investment by the Stu Sells Support Foundation to undertake this is substantial, tens of thousands of dollars, but we are up for that challenge. But, here is where the Stu Sells team needs your help!
The costs to broadcast any one single event are not insignificant at up to $3,000 to $5,000 per event. Most event budgets can’t support those costs. We are seeking support from the curling community who love to watch curling live and see their favourite teams. Please help us help everyone in the curling community through donating to this GoFundMe campaign.
The campaign and the math is simple, the more funds raised, the more events, players and teams get streamed and the greater the opportunity for local events and sponsors to get the exposure they hope for. It is a win-win-win for everyone.
Consider donating so you can see your favourites play or become an event co-sponsor to build your brand (contact us separately for event sponsorship opportunities). We want to do a minimum of five events this season so our campaign goal is $25,000. Every $ raised will go towards offering more live-streamed events.

Dozens of teams have been helped with the financial costs of competing in bonspiels that assist them in gaining valuable experience while learning the true sportsmanship of this great game.
Coupled with direct team sponsorships to numerous to count and eight great local events across Ontario and Nova Scotia, Stu and the Stu Sells team are committed to adding to what they already give back to the curling community in this new effort which will benefit teams, events and sponsors alike.
