Stu & Lucy Parr need our help.

Last week Stu & Lucy's lovely 14-year old son Brecon (who was born with the neurodevelopmental disorder DUP-15) suffered an accident while being looked after at a home for children with complex needs. Unfortunately, Brecon suffered a serious physical injury which resulted in him being admitted for surgery to replace a shattered hip, and he has been put in a rigid cast from his waist down.

His recovery will be long and painful, and it comes with significant and multiple long-term risks of further physical problems down the line. As a result, Brecon needs to stay in hospital while he recovers from surgery, and then he will return to Poole, eventually to Stu & Lucy’s home in Poole, for weeks of recovery. He will need bespoke support – in terms of carers, hospital support, specialist medical equipment, mobility assistance etc – and Stu and Lucy will incur significant extra expense during this period. At the same time, Lucy will be unable to continue working for the duration of Brecon’s lengthy recovery period, so the family’s income will be hit badly.

We would like to ask all those who know and love Stu & Lucy to consider contributing to a fund to provide support for them and their family when they need it most.

Thank you!

Stew and Ben, friends of Stu & Lucy.
