My name is Paul Muhammad, the blessed father of 5 uniquely amazing children and husband to my beautiful and supportive wife Marla.  Around November 2014, I was blessed with an empowering opportunity to begin controlling my own destiny via entrepreneurship by starting a minority Environmental Consulting/Project Management Firm. This is and was very important to me because we teach our children about building a legacy that will impact the lives of their families and communities long after they are gone from this earth. Business was consistent for the first 9 months or so due to our partnership with an established firm that fed a percentage of their contracts to us to achieve their minority participation but that came to an abrupt hault in August 2015, as our main clients government funding was unexpectanly exhausted.  I expected there to be challenges but didn't forsee the hardship of not being able to provide for my family that this has presented.  

When our contract ended, I began doing small inspections here and there but it was not significant enough to make ends meet.  Threfore, when the company that I partnered with expressed an interest in relocating operations to Houston, Texas to pursue solid leads and lucrative opportunities, I began making arrangements to relocate as I didn't have any means of providing for my family or furthering my business by staying in St. Louis, Mo.  Unfortunately, I've relocated my family and the company has decided that the once solid opportunites are solid enough for them to make the move and they're staying put.  Meanwhile, I've uprooted my whole family, exhausted all of our savings and don't have a network or any resources here to pick myself up and be successful.  

This move was a leap of faith and I don't believe that God has brought us this far to leave us stranded without a way out. Nonetheless, I'm humbled and willing to do whatever is neccessary to turn our circumstances around and continue teaching our children what faith, hard work, patience and perseverance can do.  I am not one to ask for anything but I give the world when I'm able.

My company DFS (Destined For Success) Environmental Consultants, LLC is about overcoming obstacles and proving that a minority owned enterprise can provide quality service as well as employment to the unemployed and underemployed by teaching technical skills to those that are willing to learn.  To do that, I need to acquire and/or transfer all of the applicable Texas Certifications from Missouri and take a few state exams to be current.  I need air sampling equipment of my own and a preowned microscope.  I'm in the hole right now and need aide with living expenses as I can't pay the essential living expenses and the debt is piling up by the day.

I've set a modest goal of $5,000.00 and will likely need much more but I honestly don't have any expectations.  I appreciate all who will take the time and care enough to read my story and be willing to help in any capacity.  I am a community activist and those that know my efforts in St. Louis, Mo can vouch that I will do nothing but good with these funds and work diligenty to return favor back to the communities that need my assistance.
